Car sharing is a new way to own a car.  People participate in car sharing for varied (and often multiple!) reasons - from wishing to save money on their transportation to wishing to lessen their impact on our environment.  Read more about the benefits of car-sharing!

To become a member in our co-operative, you need to meet the following criteria:

• A good credit rating
• At least 3 years of driving history
• A BC driver's licence (or a willingness to get one soon after joining)
• three or fewer traffic violations in the last five years
• no at-fault accidents in the last three years
• No criminal convictions under the Motor Vehicles Act
• Willingness to commit for a minimum of six months

After reviewing the FAQs and the member manual, complete the Online Orientation.  The orientation session takes about half an hour. You can complete it all in one go, or drop in and out until you are finished.

We require a copy of your DRIVER'S ABSTRACT and your CLAIMS HISTORY to confirm your membership eligibility.  You can call 604.661.2255 extension 5, or toll-free 1.888.715.7775 extension 5, and request that they be e-mailed to CAN at . There is no charge for sending these documents.

Once you have completed the above, call the CAN office on 604.685.1393 to confirm receipt of your documents and eligibility.
